Office Lens is a mobile scanning app used for taking photos of documents, whiteboards, receipts, business cards, and other written objects. Lens automatically formats the scan to straighten, crop, and color-correct before exporting as a PDF or image file. Lens includes optical character recognition (OCS) support so your scans can be editable in Word, OneNote, or elsewhere. You can export your scans to OneDrive, OneNote, email, or other editing apps.
Office Lens is available for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. Lens is a free app and doesn't require an Office 365 license, though its integrations with OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, and other Office 365 apps will require a license.
